Between the small villages of Fenwick and Kilmaurs in East Ayrshire, is the Rowallan Activity Centre. Initially, you would be forgiven for thinking it is simply another horse riding establishment, albeit a rather large and well equipped one. But on closer inspection, Rowallan is an absolute gem.

The large car park should be a bit of a giveaway suggesting large scale shows and events, together with the immaculate entrance way. Step inside, stroll down the hallway passing various shops selling a wide range of equestrian gear together with all sorts of gifts and walk through the doors to the observation area looking over the main riding arena. It is huge!

To the right hand side is the warming up area for the competitors and to the left is a very professional and well laid out show jumping course. There is a wide selection of hot and cold foods with seating inside the observation area and outside by the arena.

Should you prefer something a little more substantial the Brasserie is now open and the food is absolutely delicious.
