Browsers: What they are?
Well this is my first article on our new super duper website. These pixels will be dedicated to all things I.T. and possibly a few distantly related articles.
Be sure to send comments or use the contact page if you have any questions you’d like answered, I’ll endeavour to answer as many as humanly possible.
Today I’m going to talk about Internet Browsers. What they are. Why they are so important today.
What is an Internet Browser?
An Internet Browser is the application you’re using right now to view these pages. When you’re viewing websites, checking your webmail, reading the BBC online, and searching Google, you are using an Internet Browser or Web Browser.
Why is it so Important?
It really comes down to access. Your Web Browser provides access to the World Wide Web. Without it you wouldn’t be able to check your bank account, watch your favourite show you missed last night, buy that latest gadget/pair of shoes you’ve always wanted. Granted, you can do those without the internet. However, could you do those at 3am in the middle of the Atlantic ocean? With the internet you can (internet connection permitting
), but only if you have a Web Browser.
As our lives become more and more entangled with the World Wide Web the more important the Web Browser becomes. Now we need to choose the right one.
