Cash for Kids at Caprington
Today, Caprington Golf Club in Kilmarnock was the venue for the “Movie Magic Golf Tournament” in aid of Cash for Kids a local charity. This was a joint event between East Ayrshire Council, NHS Ayrshire & Arran and West Sound.
Most of the volunteer golfers were dressed up as their favourite movie characters and yes, Elvis was definitely in the building!
Anne Sym of East Ayrshire Council made all the arrangements with some assistance from her dedicated husband, Philip. Raffle tickets were available to purchase at £1 each and a buffet had been arranged for later on in the day once the course had been completed.
Unfortunately, the sun did not make an appearance but although the typical Scottish rain did show up it certainly did not dampen the spirits of the brave souls as they departed the warmth and comfort of the club house and headed for the green.
URsTV managed to capture a group shot before everyone disappeared. Thank you to one and all!
Batman, aka Alan McGill, was there. Alan is a CPN Staff Nurse at the North West Area Centre in Western Road, Kilmarnock and works alongside Anne, aka Marj Simpson.
We also spotted one of the St. Trinian’s girls (aka Ruth Lewis), Calamity Jane (Irene Clark), Fred Astaire (Margaret Williamson), Jack Sparrow (Heather McCormick), John Travolta/Tony Manero (Colin Ferris), two of the Abba girls (Fiona Graham and Pamela Lindsay), Elvis (Chris Murray), Stuart McGregor, Peter Adams and Philip Sim to name but a few!
Please contact Anne Sym on 01563 578590 to find out how you can make donations to this very worthwhile cause and to find out how you can participate in your own fund raising events.
