Looking for a nice walk in the country? Not too far from Kilmarnock? Look no further. Hurlford is part of the Irvine Valley network of footpaths which have been laid out to cater for the occasional rambler to the more adventurous hill walker. If you live in the Kilmarnock area and do not have a car do not worry. From the top of London Road in Kilmarnock it is a gentle 10 minute walk to the start of the Hurlford Walk.

“The Irvine Valley Trail is the main route of paths linking all the Valley towns. Tackle it as a long walk or enjoy it as a series of smaller circular routes taking in each of the towns of Darvel, Newmilns, Galston and Hurlford.”

This is what is written on the large sign which details all the available paths in the area. Check it out before you start and choose your route. It is as easy as that! On some of the routes the kids can even take their bikes!

URsTV will endeavour to investigate most if not all of the paths to check out their accessibility and ease of use. Please let us know if you have already tested any of the tracks and be the first to give us a review.
